Moderated by Prof. Mike Boers, this in-person session features Iain Waugh, Engineering Manager at Blackmagic Design, who will share practical insights on transitioning FPGA designs into ASIC.

Iain’s presentation will cover:

  • The general ASIC toolchain flow for digital design
  • Communicating effectively with a fabrication partner
  • Accessing and using digital cell libraries
  • Coding styles and common pitfalls to avoid
  • Reset strategies
  • Designing with RAMs to target FPGA and ASIC

The session will also include a fireside chat with Macquarie University Post Doctoral Researcher, Andrea Mazzanti, offering additional perspectives on ASIC development flow and will conclude with a Q&A

Who should attend?
